Luc
Jacquet is trying to make a niche for himself in nature films with some kind of
story, as he previously did with March
Of The Penguins, a hit you can read more about at this link:

His more
recent film The Fox & The Child
(2007) is narrated for this U.S. release by Kate Winslet and the child in this
case is a 10-year-old girl who befriends the title animal.  It can be cute and amusing and is not too
sappy.  It is also just child-safe
enough, though it is also a bit boring at times and might only appeal to young
ladies around the age of the protagonist.

The anamorphically
enhanced 2.35 X 1 image was shot in High Definition video and has flaws and
weakness throughout in its detail and with noise patches all over the
place.  It is still not a bad shoot and
you get a good heaping of nature footage, but it is a step down from the
previous March.  The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is also pushing the
sound to the thinness point.  The
combination is weak but watchable.  There
are no extras.
