Jewel
Shepard stars in the 1984 erotic thriller directed by Franciso Lara
Polop, Christina, that is something of a cheap way to time
travel back in time to the '80s, as it looks great on Blu-ray disc.
While it gets off to rather slow start, the film features some
provocative photography, particularly during the kidnapping sequence.
There's also a catfighting sequence in a mansion where two women
fight one another and rip the clothes off each other at the same time
against a live chanting female audience. So there's that. The film
also stars Ian Sera and Enrique Johnson.
Shepard
stars as Christina Von Belle, a beautiful and wealthy heiress, is
kidnapped by a lesbian terrorist group from the Italian country side
and held for ransom. She escapes the lesbian terrorists, only to
fall into the clutches of a gang of gourmet chefs, who see the value
in her ransom. Will she be able to escape the life of a prisoner and
go back to her normal life again?
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a 1.85:1 widescreen aspect ratio and a
English PCM 2.0 Stereo track, the film looks and sounds as good as it
can on Blu-ray disc. No extras.
Though
I did enjoy the FBI logo and the intermission logo before the menu
looking very fuzzy, much like a VHS would look. This film isn't what
I would call good but entertaining for what it is. If you're a fan
of 'kidnapping gone awry' or dated '80s erotica. It doesn't shy away
from nudity but rather presents the sex in a bizarre artistic manner.
