The
Last Horror Film (aka Fanatic) is a 1982 film by David
Winters that isn't exactly what you call a good film but a fun film.
Half slasher, half romance - the film centers around an actress and
her stalker. The film transfer is fantastic, sporting the vintage
film look of the time that adds to the hammy slasher quality of the
film.
Joe
Spinell (The Godfather) plays Vinny, a cab driver with dreams
of being a major Hollywood producer. Determined to have Jenna Bates
(Bond-girl Caroline Munro who had just starred with Spinell in
William Lustig's Maniac (1980, reviewed in its double Blu-ray
set edition) a few years before) star in his first film, Vinny
follows her to the Cannes Film Festival where she's busy promoting
her latest horror flick. He becomes obsessed with Jenna... you would
even say he comes a Fanatic!
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a 1.85:1 widescreen aspect ratio and a
sharp, lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track that sounds clear throughout.
The transfer is full of scratches, some grain in areas (as expected
for its age and genre), and the occasional jumpy frame, but as noted
it adds to the experience of the film.

I
would definitely suggest this to fans of slasher, specifically '80s
films like Sleepaway Camp. As usual, Troma crowds this
release with shameless self promotion, but aside from that, it's a
decent disc.
