A little
while ago, I got to see Jeff Dunham do one of his stand-up comedy routines:

I thought
he had some talent, but was not as impressed with the show as I could have
been. Now, he has a TV show and the
simply-titled The Jeff Dunham Show
is a little better and can be amusing at times.
He is a ventriloquist with a series of regular character puppets and
this is not for children. However, the
show allows him to move away from the repetition of his act and the helps him
broaden his horizons ever so narrowly.
This
single DVD has a few episodes to give you an idea of what he does and you are
better off starting here than on the Arguing
With Myself show just to get to see him at his best so far. You still may not be impressed, but he is at
least ambitious and an unexpected breakthrough could be around the corner. As it is, you might smile here and there.
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image was shot on what looks like 1080i High Definition video
and has some softness throughout in this downtrade. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is about the
same, well recorded, but with limits and some shortcomings. Extras include Bloopers, Behind The Scenes
pieces and an Unaired Sketch that is so-so.
