Michael
Winterbottom made a very interesting combination of eroticism and music with
his somewhat experimental feature 9
Songs (2005) and it worked well enough that I still have good memories of
it. You can read more about it from our
DVD coverage at this link:

It holds
up well enough, especially later so many releases that show so much and know so
little about sex, sexuality or music. It
is worth your time if you are interested in either or a combination thereof.
The 1080p
1.85 X 1 digital High Definition image was shot on video and you do get a
little more out of it here, but you also get image noise, degradation and other
flaws that can be distracting. The sound
mix is not perfect, but the DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) lossless 5.1 mix is enough
of an improvement that you can here more of the sound and music, though there
is also more apparent compression from what is a lower-budget project also
audible on the PCM 2.0 Stereo option. This
version has no extras, though the DVD had a few items of interest.
Oh well.
