Care Bears: Share-A-Lot-in-Care-A-Lot (Lionsgate DVD)

The pop culture of the 1980s marks a sometimes strange shift in escapism and fantasy to the point that it becomes oddly surreal in ways no one could have imagined and this includes the Care Bears franchise.  Though it has never again attained the peak of success it had upon its original arrival, the characters have had a recent, successful series of DVD releases.  Here are two examples:

Most have been singles like the former that are basically interchangeable in content and though somewhat child-friendly, are TV series as TV ads and that shift eventually destroyed Saturday Morning Cartoons (et al) as we knew it.  The oldest toys in the best condition, as expected, have picked up in value, but not in the top tire of such items of the time.  The eight shows here are passable, colorful and nothing memorable.  This is for fans only, but if you have children, you could do better.

The 1.33 X 1 image and Dolby Digital 2.0 sound are on part with the previous sets, though I did not like their performance as much as my colleague either.  There are no extras, unless more ads count.  ‘Nuff said.
