Kaley
Cuoco is a natural comic talent, as she proves in every episode of Big Bang
Theory, but she does just as well outside of the hit show, even in a formulaic
TV movie like Crimes Of Fashion. Here, she is a school student struggling to
become a fashion designer at a school specifically for that purpose. Limited in resources, she also has to deal
with rich snobby competition in the form of Megan Fox, who is not that bad
here.
Unfortunately,
the teleplay by David Mickel plays it safe and by design considering who this
was made for, but I was amused enough to keep watching simply because of the
leads. The situations are ludicrous and
the story becomes highly unrealistic about 30 minutes in, but I like Cuoco and
she might just have a huge career ahead of her.
Fox isn’t doing bad either.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is shot on what looks like 1080i HD
video and this is on the soft side, but has some good shots at least, while the
Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is passable and recorded well enough. There are no extras.
