The Hills – Season Five, Part Two (MTV DVD)

When
people criticize shows like The Hills,
the reactionary answer by the small group that made it a cable hit goes
something like “you’re just jealous because you don’t have their money” or
“your life is boring” or any other lame character attack on that debased,
airheaded level. One could ask in
response if the critic(s) could explain the difference between this show (fact,
fiction or somewhere in between) and all the others with phony smiling people
with money who never seem happy. We have
covered most of the DVD releases since The
Complete Second Season, which you can read more about at this link:

Well, the
show went from bad to “why was this ever greenlighted” and shows how debased
and pathetic the MTV Network has become since its fall from being about music
and people to being about phoniness and regress. Since the economic crisis of 2009, the people
here look more idiotic and out of touch with reality than ever and many come
across as truly boring human beings.
The 1.33
X 1 image is still very soft for a brand new show all these shows later and
once again, the materials are at least one generation down. All that money and they look as bad as they
make sane people feel. The sound is here
again is in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo with no surrounds and still as weak. I blame the producers over the crew. Extras include a “Bitch Is Back” Special,
After Show “remixes” and deleted scenes.
Elton John should incinerate a box of copies of this disc for fun.
