Two very
interesting thrillers for different reasons, we previously covered Horrors Of The Black Museum in this
restored DVD edition from VCI:

Not a bad
film, Cheezy Flicks have issued their own version that is merely letterboxed
2.35 X 1 and not anamorphically enhanced, so it does not look as good or sound
as good with its PCM 16/48 2.0 Mono. We
would like to see a Blu-ray, but until then the VCI DVD is best, though snag
this version if you find it cheap and don’t care about the quality as much.
That
leaves Night of The Bloody Horror
(1969), which wants to be another Psycho with a very young, skinny Gerald
McRaney (Simon & Simon) cast to
be Norman Bates-like as someone who has weird migraine headache moments
(accompanied by optically printed concentric waves on the screen near his
head!) that might be driving him to be a killer. Is he?
This is bad and funny with McRaney giving his usual bad acting
performance, minus the later smugness.
The 1.33
X 1 image on Night is as weak as Museum, but color is worse and the
print looks shot, but the PCM 16/48 2.0 Mono sounds slightly better in a
surprise, but is still very rough and noisy.
Trailers and Intermission shorts are the only extras on both DVDs.
