Army Wives – The Complete Third Season (2009/ABC-Disney DVD)

Welcome to the hit series 'Army Wives’; 4 army house wives, 1 army husband, their families, their stories and how they intertwined.  Brought together by the army, regardless of the differences between their spouse's rank, social class or position they became fast friends, but in Season 3, their friendship is really put to the test.  Claudia Joy must deal with her teenage daughter and save her family from falling apart.  Denise must deal with her infidelity when it becomes the public post.  Roxy struggles financially and emotionally to save her family and the bar she worked for.  Pamela questions her marriage when her husband when he lied about being in an accident when he was really captured and tortured.  Roland begins to prep to be a single parent when Joan is set to deploy.  It's a season of challenges and changes, lives will be forever altered.

This is a great series, even thought this is a fictional series, the stories are believable.  The stress of a spouse never being home, giving up past lives married to a military man/woman, the struggle between following the rules or one's dreams, not to mention the political and social dramas of housewives.  Sometimes being on the homefront is scarier than being on the battlefield, but still... it has it's heart warming and heartfelt moments.  I enjoyed not only the drama, but how much it can echo real life, the setting was beautiful and the script was well written.

This is a great drama in my opinion, better than all those hospital or police drama, there is a bit of drama for everything, action, tragedy, change, life in the army... what can you say, it's got it all.  While fictional, the stories seems incredibly almost realistic, social politics, triumph and failures, infidelity, death, IRS, debt, tragedy; basically real life problems we have to face in reality.  It has themes such as love, desire, honor, responsibility, jealousy, anger, forgiveness and understanding... but of course a person went through ALL the drama that happens on the show, I think a real person would either go crazy or just be crazy to be still in the army.  Extras include behind the scenes with cast, crew and location of the filming of Army Wives in Charleston, South Carolina, gag reel, deleted scenes, Webisodes, and more.  After watching them just makes me feel like going there sometime.
