Compo, Clegg, and Foggy, three old men of the British
Isles and their everyday quest to find something significant in Roy Clarke's Last Of The Summer Wine. Along with their crazy ideas and even crazier schemes,
the trio brews up troubles and laughter to people of the village. It starts when Foggy takes them out to see a
restored steam engine and ends up with them in a runaway train. Exploring the countryside, Foggy gets an idea
to redo landscape and express their patriotism at the same time. Discovering one of the local boys off in the
woods doing something with a bedding roll (add much amusement to the village
gossip), to fulfilling Compo's wish to fly in a pigeon suit.
This is a comical British comedy of the story of 3 old men with a bit of life
left in them. Foggy usually the one with
the ideas tries and take Clegg and Compo out of the house to enjoy life and a
bit of fresh air, but with Clegg and Compo usually turns out disastrous with
Compo's wicked wiles and ends them up in the pub with the womenfolk mad at
them. It is a wonder the village isn't
driven crazy by them. These 3 old
adolescents can find and make merry of any situation and they certainly enjoy
life to the last drop as much as they enjoy their tea and brandy.
This is a great comedy TV show; like the Three
Stooges with color (but not
colorized), with loveable British humor and adorable accents. Set in a beautiful British countryside village
the three always somehow make something ordinary become extraordinary. The three have a friendship like Chipmunks in
Alvin and the Chipmunks,
Foggy the supposed leader of the group, Compo never thinking always following
his nose (and other bodily parts) and Clegg, dragged along with the trouble and
acts as the go-between for Foggy and Compo. Any fan of British shows or comedy would
definitely find this show a hoot.
