The Ultimate
Fighting Championship has grown a good bit since we first covered the UFC on DVD many years ago, as this link
will show:

Now, by being a success and continuously reinvesting into
the, the franchise has moved into High Definition and become a staple in Las
Vegas as it challenges boxing as the most popular sport around (and around
there).
This new DVD set is split into two sections:
Disc 1 – Main Card
Brock Lesnar vs. Frank
Mir
Georges St.-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
Jon Fitch vs. Paulo
Thiago
Dan Henderson vs.
Michael Bisping
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs.
Alan Belcher
Disc 2 – Preliminary
Fights
Mark Coleman vs. Stephan Bonnar
Mac Danzig vs. Jim Miller
Jon Jones vs. Jake O’Brien
Dong Hyun Kim vs. TJ Grant
CB Dollaway vs. Tom Lawlor
Matt Grice vs. Shannon Gugerty
Though the production has become more polished, the fights
are as rough and brutal as ever and a few competing franchises have tried to
cut in, but the UFC is ahead of them all and as a result, they can get the best
such fighters around. I have enjoyed
seeing this sport grow and hold together better than most of late.
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is a little
soft, but is not bad for what is likely a 1080i HD shoot with good color and a
cleaner presentation that earlier analog-based releases, while the Dolby
Digital 2.0 Stereo is sufficient for the fight and play-by-play hosting. Extras include a behind the scenes
featurettes and Countdown To UFC 100
piece.
