Shout! Factory continues their rollout of the hit TV
version of Peyton Place, a half-hour
soap opera that was pretty much primetime TV’s first, but there will be new
interest in the show since Ryan O’Neal has been in the news so much lately,
especially in relation to the late, great Farrah Fawcett. We liked the first set, which you can read
more about at this link:

This time, we get 33 more shows and the storyline picks up
as the writers are confident enough that the audience is familiar with the
characters, so they turn up the melodrama and that may not stop the show from
being unintentionally funny, but the makers are serious about keeping the show
going. As a result,
The 1.33
X 1 image is shot on black and white 35mm film.
These new transfers look really good as the last set did and that
fidelity makes watching it a plus, though it can be soft in parts. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is again on the
clean and clear side, especially for its age, furthering how good this plays back. There are again no extras, but for such a big
hit of the time, shouldn’t there be?
