For some
shows, you either like it or you don’t.
For this writer, Army Wives
is an incredibly melodramatic, sappy, dull, predictable, boring series that has
found an audience somehow. To find out
more about the show and from someone who liked it enough (and more than I), try

Well, the
fact that this is more filler for the cable network that seems like all filler,
Lifetime should tell you how bad it is.
The network for women is the one for women who like to be bored to death
and this show is one of the reasons. The
5 DVDs here have all 19 hour-long shows (though shorter than ever for more
commercials, despite cable and satellite rates going up) and the result is Desperate Housewives without the
excitement, though that show got boring too.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image at least does not look bad for an HD
shoot with occasional good color and detail, but it is far from the
best-looking TV production today and the combination of shooting and editing
are flat and dull. The Dolby Digital 5.1
mix is actually not too bad, including some ambient sound, so money is being
put into the formula production. Extras
this time include bloopers, deleted scenes and four making of featurettes.
