After
issuing the Adam Ravetch/Sarah Robertson HD-shot documentary Arctic Tale (2007) in the now-defunct
HD-DVD format and DVD, Paramount has finally gotten around to putting out a
Blu-ray edition and it falls in quality between the two. For more on the feature and those previous
releases, try this link:

The 1080p
1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image has some motion blur and detail limits I
do not remember from the HD-DVD, but still plays back well enough to outdo the
DVD, while the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mix just edges out the Dolby Digital Plus 5.1
on the HD and regular Dolby 5.1 on the DVD, which were about the same, with
limited soundfield, some good location recording and Latifah’s narration nicely
captured. Extras are also the same. It is an amusing, smart, child-safe title
worth your time if interested.
