In what
feels like a contest where everyone loses, Tim Pingel’s Hookers, Inc. seems like yet another loser in a contest to do a
story about XXX production and backfires badly.
Not as funny as Zack & Miri
Make A Porno and not even as clever as the likes of Slippery Slope (both reviewed elsewhere on this site), this taped
production (set in many cheap inside locations with only some outdoor Hollywood
footage) tells the boring story of how three prostitutes get involved in taping
themselves sin action for profit.
Hardly a
step up, they meet the same unlikable guys they would if they stayed with the
oldest profession in the world and the three actresses picked to be the title
characters are only so memorable or attractive.
Besides every cliché you can imagine, this just never works and except
for a few minor chuckles if that, this is one corporation that should fold.
The
letterboxed 1.78 X 1 image is pale and detail challenged throughout, though
outdoor shots (day or night) tend to reproduce better. The Dolby Digital 2.0 sound is barely stereo
and has some location audio issues.
Extras include an audio commentary, outtakes, deleted scenes, a Heidi
Fleiss party and brief behind the scenes featurette.
