Sometimes
a show should quit while it is ahead, but NBC and Warner Bros. just cannot let
go of ER and by its Tenth Season featured in this new DVD
set, to show the site has fans of the show, here is our coverage of previous
seasons:

The show
retained the underrated Noah Wylie, but even with newer cast members like Mekhi
Phifer, Sherry Stringfield, Laura Innes and other capable supporting actors,
the show became pretty thin at this point despite the money and backing of the
makers. The medical trip to Africa was a
good idea, but throughout the 22 hour-long shows on six DVDs here, it looks more
like an imitator of the show than the show they started out with a long time
ago. It is a show that never stayed with
me then, let alone now and it may have drained any life out of future medical
dramas for years to come. Enough is
enough.
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 widescreen image is not bad, but can have some motion blur,
detail and depth limits despite how clean it is. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is on the flat
side with some Pro Logic surrounds, but nothing special. After all this time, you’d think the show
would have gone 5.1 by then. Wonder if
this will play better on Blu-ray whenever it arrives. Extras include more unaired scenes and another
gag reel, but nothing more in a way that points out that even the makers seem
to know they are stretching things out.
