Oddest thing of all, the first release came out of the vaguely successful Project Greenlight, being one of the
few to be moderately successful and maybe the only to turn into any kind of
franchise. Feast III The Happy Finish: Unrated feels very much like Gulager
going for broke, disappointed his career did not advance like it could have and
his script throws in everything and the kitchen sink. Trying to imitate the Tarantino/Rodriguez Grindhouse look, it is loaded with
every clich้ around and after being to bloody, loud and violent in the opening,
never knows where to go from there and it just drags on and on humorlessly, no
matter its attempts to be funny. All in
all, the plate is stale leftovers.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is slightly soft throughout even when
the stylized look is included, though some shots look good. The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix that
is louder and harsher than it should be and with no point. Extras include an audio commentary track with
the makers and Gulager profile.
