Christopher Titus – Love Is Evol (Comedy Central DVD)
Picture: C+ Sound: C+ Extras: C- Concert: C
After the
cancellation of his TV sitcom, Christopher Titus is still out there as a
survivor and stand-up comic and yes, he does have a sense of humor, but not one
that ever stunned me. Less impressive
than his short-lived sitcom, Christopher
Titus – Love Is Evol is a disappointing, silly “love sucks’” themed routine
out in time for Valentine’s Day. Amusing
at times, I never laughed once. Why?
Well,
maybe his complaining is one of the reasons his character in his routine is not
finding anyone. Who would want to date
this guy? The ideas here are just so
played out that I never bought them or his as victim, so it just never adds up
to anything really funny or complete in its 85 minutes. He is better than this and look forward to
his next routine change.
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is not bad, with good color, but definition
limits. It is watchable and the set is a
plus. The Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0
versions are about the same with limited fidelity that is adequate for a
stand-up show, but we have heard better.
Extras include fan interviews, Countdown
To V-Day and a behind-the-scenes photo shoot dubbed Titus Vs. Cupid.
