Fat Head

As a
response to the hit documentary Super
Size Me, Tom Naughton has made a somewhat amusing send-up of it called Fat Head that has the man diet and
losing weight on McDonald’s, then moving on to attacking critical food reports
as being sponsored by vegetarians and blaming the media for making us look and
seem fatter than we actually are in general, all the way down to an extreme U.S.
Government definition of obesity.
Running
104 minutes, it does not repeat itself much, yet after a certain point one gets
the points it is trying to make. It is a
plus that it is thorough and goes all the way in explaining its points of view,
but I did not find it to be any better or worse than the hit it sends up and it
is funny in its own way. It is worth a
look if you are interesting in the subject of eating and health.
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is soft and has aliasing errors throughout, produced on
what looks like low def digital video.
The Dolby Digital 2.0 mix is barely stereo and is adequate at best. Extras include bonus interviews.
