Treasure Blind (Cloud Ten DVD)

Another
boring family film that gives family life a bad name and makes it phonier than
ever, Writer/Director Brian Shoop’s Treasure
Blind is a lame run-on story about a grandfather/grandson relationship that
never rings true, is dull, eventually corny and runs on and on. The twist is the grandson is blind and that
only gets so much mileage. The bit about
what we “see” as valuable and not is practically condescending and 88 minutes
is more than enough of this.
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is one of the most motion-blur loaded discs we have
seen in a while, made worse by flashbacks shot to look soft. Some of the color is consistent and this is
shot on low-0def video of some sort, or very, very hold HD. The Dolby Digital 2.0 sound is barley stereo
and often compressed, plus has been transferred at a low volume, so be careful
about playback volumes. Extras include
deleted scenes, gag reel, a making of featurette and trailer.
