Daniel’s Daughter (2007/Genius DVD)

Picture: C     Sound: C+     Extras: D     Telefilm: D

Neill Fearnley’s Daniel’s Daughter (2007) is a dopey melodrama about a working woman (Laura Leighton) who is about to marry a rich man, but could find real true love with a pauper type, though part of the message is that she is ignorant for wanting a career and could not possibly make the right choices in men.  Though not always that arrogant, this is a telefilm dud and is to be avoided.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image has all kinds of motion blur, suggesting it was shot in digital video of some kind, maybe early High Definition equipment.  It looks poor and should not be for a recent production.  The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix sounds like much ambience to stretch out a simpler soundtrack.  There are no extras.
