Ever
since the death of Jesus there have been numerous attempts to falsify this
truth, distort history, and sway people away from Christianity. All
attempts have failed and Bloodline
is just another attempt to ride off the coattails that occurred when Tom Hanks’
The DaVinci Code, which still has
yet to convince anyone.
Here
filmmaker Bruce Burgess attempts to crack the Priory of Sion, the society that
was made famous from the Da Vinci Code,
which in turn brings them to what they believe is proof that Jesus was married
to Mary Magdalene. They also try to prove that Jesus did not rise from
the dead and was in fact still buried in the tomb; that his body is still there.
If indeed
Jesus did not rise from the dead, then Christianity would no longer
exist. This is true. It is in that very essence that Jesus did in
fact rise from the dead and conquered death that we can have faith in Christ,
which is the only way to Heaven. Jesus was the sacrifice that covered the
world’s sins, which enables humans to enter into Heaven. Prior to Jesus
people would offer sacrifices to atone for their sins, but Jesus was sent to
Earth as the ultimate sacrifice, which is why the New Testament makes the
practices of the Old Testament obsolete.
There is
nothing proved within this film, other than the fact that people will believe
anything and try to use poor information to distort the absolute truth.
Still, people are entitled to what they want to believe, but only the truth
will make sense and will hold true against all attacks. Christianity has
survived because of the fact that it is true and while other Religions believe
that they are true, there is evidence to support why they are not. Jesus
is the only person who has been able to defeat death and it is in that simple
act that separates Christianity from any other belief system.
The film
is presented with a full-frame transfer and 2.0 Dolby Stereo mix, which only
shows that little investment was made into the production or the DVD release,
which simply tells us that not very many people believed in the project enough
to support it. Even a big budget bomb like The Da Vinci Code couldn’t get
enough of a rallying support behind it…why…because it’s not true.
There are
a few extras that take you ‘more in-depth’, but enough is enough…there won’t is
nothing that will take you deep enough to make you believe the lies.
