In yet
another bad spoof of the XXX sex industry with not one believable moment or
anything else going for it, Stephan Surjik’s I Want Candy (2007) is a very tired, lame 87 minutes long romp
about two guys who want to get into the industry and much more, but the writing
here is so juvenile that you sit in disbelief that this ever found any funding.
Carmen
Electra shows up, which these days is a bad sign of bad comedy, but this also
wastes Michelle Ryan, who was cast in the wasted revival of The Bionic Woman before bad writing and
the writer’s strike killed it. As farce,
satire or just outright comedy, this never works and is like bad Halloween
candy that is poisoned. Instead of
anything sexy, all you’ll get is one big yawn.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is very soft and weak throughout, while
the Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo mixes are basic and weak with little
difference. Extras include outtakes,
deleted scenes, a silly Top Ten list and a lame behind the scenes featurette.
