Nashville Pussy – Live In Hollywood (MVD Visual DVD)

With a
name like Nashville Pussy, you know
any such band is trying to be provocative and appeal to an alternate
audience. In this case, it is a Country
Rock band who has been around for years, hanging in there with success on their
own terms. Live In Hollywood features a recent concert with mixed results and
is now on DVD from Music Video Distributors.
Having
heard them briefly before, nothing stayed with me and in the 19 tracks here,
you get some drinking songs and complaining songs with little else in between
(I guess we can add Blues somewhere to the genres covered) and when it was all
over, it did nothing for me. It could
have been a better showcase, but perhaps they only had their fans in mind; a
mistake I have seen before. Get it at
your own risk.
The 1.33
X 1 videotaped image is weak and soft in ways a new program should not be, while
the location sound in Dolby Digital 5.1 is as very weak and troubled, which
becomes sonically worse in the extras.
Dubbed “Pussy’s New Movies” we get interviews, extra concert footage and
some behind the scenes footage that will at least make fans happy.
