Buried Alive (Sony DVD)

The
torture porn cycle is so bad, that there are now more than one DVDs out there
with the name Buried Alive and this
one from Sony is all shot badly on video and runs barely over an hour! This is Paul Etheredge’s disaster about bad
acting, abductions and bad editing as more people are kidnapped and slowly
killed snuff style, but the script (what little there is of it) is so dead on
arrival that you too will want to bury it.
That the
cycle is now releasing any taped goofiness shows the bottom-of-the-barrel money
grab this is, derived form a lame FEARnet web series that shows why downloads
are still one big rat hole. I sat in
disbelief in the lameness and in that a major studio would even bother. You should do the opposite and bury your
plans to see it.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 is soft with motion blur, choppy editing that
can’t hide the general sloppiness of the project and image quality not much
above a camera phone. The Dolby Digital 2.0
sound is barely stereo and often the location audio is substandard throughout. Extras include a making of featurette,
deleted scenes which are a mess and (spare us) an audio commentary that is one
of the poorest of the year.
