Earshot – The Silver Lining (Fontana/In De Goot CD)
Sound: B Music: C+
Another
somewhat ambitious Rock band, Earshot has released their latest album, The Sliver Lining, late in Summer 2008
to possibly take advantage of what they hope will be good music to make going
back to school more bearable. While it
is a good album for what it is, it did not stay with me and they members of the
band seem to be trying to give it their all.
However, it is better than some of the really bad “moon, June, spoon, croon”
we have suffered thorough as Rock has declined and you could do worse.
The
tracks include:
1)
Closer
2)
Don’t Hate Me
3)
Missunderstood
4)
Wasted
5)
Sometimes
6)
I Hate You
7)
More Than I Ever Wanted
8)
Besides Myself
9)
Pushing To Shore
10) Where The Pain Begins
11) Go
I think there
is room for growth and I would like to hear them again in an album and/or
two. If you like new Rock, young as the
makers might be, you might want to give this a listen. At least the PCM 2.0 16/44.1 Stereo sound is
not bad, however stylized for a Rock edge, even if that is not what it used to
be.
