Reno 911 continues to be popular, though
the feature film only did so well. Maybe
taking a show that relies on sending up the frivolous nature of shaky video and
sloppy editing ala “reality TV” should stay on TV. You can read more about the film at this

This Complete Fifth Season set is three
DVDs, has all the shows and comes in slender cases. The show’s comedy is the kind that you can
say is an acquired taste. Either you get
it or you do not. Spoofing the likes of
Cops, the show could be only a one-joke comedy, but I admit it is a little more
than that. The only problem is that once
you get it, it either remains funny or not and I am of the group who falls into
the latter category. At least fans will
like this set.
The 1.33
X 1 image is good, new and clean NTSC professional analog video and one of the
last such shows we will ever see produced as such. Color is consistent under the
circumstance. The Dolby Digital 2.0 is stereo
enough, though the series is always trying to make their audio sound like a
location recording. Extras include audio
commentary from the cast, over 40 minutes of extended scenes and featurette Cop Psychology: Inside The Minds Of Reno’s
Deputies.
