Dynasty – Season Three, Volume One (CBS DVD/1982)

At the
height of a newfound power, the nighttime soap opera Dynasty returned to pump up the pressure on Dallas while delivering more wild exploits to an audience that just
kept growing and growing. You can read

Now that
CBS DVD has totally taken the show over, they are splitting the seasons in half
so they can fit four discs in what is the space of one DVD. Some fans are not happy with this, but it has
some advantages. At this point, Steven
was lost and Al Corley was at odds with the producers should handle his
character, but the cast added Gordon Thompson in what would be a key character
addition as Adam Carrington and he was not on the up and up.
Best of
all, the great chemistry all the actors started with started going off the
chart and that allowed the writers to ramp up the plots and outrageousness that
kept increasing in the seasons to come as it became and remains the greatest
nighttime soap of all time. Start at the
beginning and watch with awe.
The 1.33
X 1 image is again not bad, but despite the clean and sometimes colorful
appearance of the prints come with some issues here and there. You can see even more money on the screen
here and this will be very interesting on Blu-ray. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is still nice and
clean for its age, so the combination is good, but was the music recorded in a
way that this could be in stereo? Such
an upgrade would be fun. There are sadly
no extras.
