Ted Nugent – Sweden Rocks (Eagle DVD)
Picture: C Sound: C+ Extras: C Concert: C+
Ted
Nugent may have his politics and be controversial on his hunting issues, but
his commitment to Rock Music is inarguable and he continues to deliver his music
without the age and lack of energy of so many of his contemporaries. A while ago, we covered Full Bluntal Nugety, which you can read about at this link:

The new
concert has more of the same energy, but something is a bit off this time as
Nugent and company run through the following songs:
1)
Stormtroopin’
2)
Wango Tango
3)
Snakeskin Cowboys
4)
Free For All
5)
Wang Dang Sweet Poontang
6)
Kldtrphmky
7)
Raw Dogs & War Hogs
8)
Soul Man
9)
Hey Baby
10) Dog Eat Dog
11) Still Raising Hell
12) Motor City Madhouse
13) Cat Scratch Fever
14) Stranglehold
15) Great White Buffalo
He is
good, but it is just not as consistent a concert as it should or could be,
though still better than his many contemporaries. He can even still sing and act nuts, whi9ch
is part of the whole point, but this might not be the place you want to start
if you want to be introduced to his musical side.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is far softer than it should be for a
recent taping, not HD and static in the actual shoot. The DTS 5.1 is better than the Dolby Digital
5.1 and 2.0 mixes, but the audio in all cases is a little muddier and shrill
than a recording from June 2007 (or 1997) should be. Extras include two hunting featurettes, an
interview and three bonus tracks.
