continues to issue their Nick Jr. shows on DVD.
Go Diego Go! – Great Gorilla is
the first time we have seen the companion to Dora The Explorer hit DVD focusing on the joys of adventure that
travel (even imagined) brings, while Wonder
Pets! – Save The Nursery Rhyme! is in the same vein as the last
Beatles-inspired installment (reviewed elsewhere on this site) with songs and
appeals to sadness that can be changed if helping out others.
There is
nothing different here to expect but a safe DVD package with just enough
entertainment for a child to enjoy before moving on to something else. At least they are child-friendly.
The 1.33
X 1 image in both cases has some minus aliasing errors, but looks pretty good
and colorful for the way the shows are made, one animated, the other (Pets) taped in live action, making it a
bit softer. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
has no surrounds, but these can be loud and you should be careful of
volumes. Extras include previews and
silly Music Videos.
