Walk All Over Me (2007/Genius DVD)

Since
Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut in
1999, every film with some mysterious edge Leelee Sobieski has made since has
been very, very bad or lame, like the inane, recent remake of The Wicker Man. Now she’s at it again with a film that thinks
it is exploring the seedy side of S&M (or something like that) in Robert
Cuffley’s Walk All Over Me (2007)
that is really an idiot-plot would-be thriller with some latex and sex toys
decorating the same old formula.
Sobieski
is a waitress who accidentally loses a bunch of money at her diner meant for
her corrupt boss and runs away to a friend who is now a dominatrix and lets her
stay at her place. Of course, she is a
goof and does everything dumb she can to cause her friend trouble and get
involved in more mistakes. If she was
not that dumb, there would be no movie.
After 99 minutes, all is pretty forgettable and Sobieski racks up
another dud.
The
anamorphically enhanced 2.35 X 1 image is not very colorful, memorable or with
much detail, but is at least clean. The
Dolby Digital 5.1 mix features some of the dumbest, poorest and most
forgettable songs in recent memory, but surrounds are active and dialogue is
recorded well enough. Extras include a
trailer, (surprise!) Music Video, outtakes, deleted scenes, stills and audio
commentary.
