National Lampoon presents Cattle Call (2007/Lionsgate DVD)

Picture: C     Sound: C     Extras: C-     Feature: D

The lame National Lampoon cascade of crap continues with Cattle Call, a 2007 mess about three guys who pretend they are casting a film to meet sexy woman.  Of course, the pretending about filmmaking extends to this mess where nobody is funny, only some of the women are actually “that” sexy and the script is as non-existent as the lack of originality.

Diedrich Bader is the only actor I recognized and everyone here is as quickly forgotten as the last forgotten Lampoon release.  The cutting edge has never been so dull, but might be enough to commit suicide with if you watch enough of these time killers.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 is cheaply shot on older HD of some kind that looks so soft and bad, this might as well be low-def as the color is lame and the shots are like a bad sitcom.  The Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 mixes are very weak, pointing to the low budget of this quickie (no pun intended).  The only extras are trailers for DVDs that cannot possibly be worse.
