Unless
they are from the world the documentary Gay
Republicans offers, the gay and lesbian community must be in constant shock
or laughter when they are not outright angry as to what has been going on since
the second Bush Administration took over.
No administration has been more obsessed with homosexuality considering
they seem to dislike it so much in the history of this or any
democracy/republic. After all, what can
you say about an administration that makes a law against gay marriage a big
issue, with plans on using it as a Constitution shredder, when the Vice
President’s daughter is openly lesbian and they are not just avoiding
condemning her, but celebrating her?
Todd
Verow decided to take the hypocrisy to a new level, portraying everyone in the
White House as forming a homosexual stronghold in Bulldog In The White House, envisioning Bush as a closet case, Karl
Rove as a homosexual pervert with the evil personality of a James Bond villain
and general madness that never pulls any punches in blasting all on a personal
level.
Though it
would have been even more subversive if they had gone for broke, there is
plenty of dark humor and heavy doses of gay community language to make the
messages here clear. There is more to
say, but at 80 minutes, there is more than enough here to send the GOP climbing
up the walls.
The 1.33
X 1 image was shot on low def video, is soft, but is consistent enough to
retain its color and has some interesting moments of editing and even
montages. The Dolby Digital 2.0 is
simple stereo and though it has some flaws from the location recording, is not
bad. Extras include deleted scenes.
