The Best Of Comedy Central Presents – Uncensored (DVD)

Though it
does not always get the credit, The Comedy Central Network has been great for
stand-up comedy and has helped the cause for freedom of speech as much as any
cable network around. The Best Of Comedy Central Presents –
Uncensored offers eight comics (taped from 1999 to 2005) that really are
top rate and include Lewis Black and an early Dane Cook in great form.
Others
include Jeff Dunham, Jim Gaffigan, Mitch Hedberg, Demetri Martin, Carlos Mencia
and Brian Regan. I was surprised what a
good sampling of the show and how good for the most part the acts were, making
this a fine crash course for the show and for all intents and purposes, the
artform. But if you just want some good
laughs, that is more than enough of a reason to catch it.
The 1.33
X 1 image is culminated from various analog NTSC sources, but look pretty good
for the most part. The Dolby Digital 2.0
Stereo is clean and clear enough to hear the jokes, though some segments can
sound a little better than others.
