The Wiggles – Pop Go The Wiggles (Children/Warner DVD)

We have
looked at The Wiggles series on DVD
before and not that long ago, as this link will attest to:
http://www.fulvuedrive-in.com/review/6039/The+Wiggles+–+Getting+Strong
We
thought we should give the series a second chance and I must say that was good,
because this is a better volume, this time with the goal of teaching classic
nursery rhymes to children. The bonus
this time is that there is a version of the show where deaf children can
participate with an actor in a side bubble doing the ASL (American Sign Language)
version of sign language and after al the children’s titles
we have seen, it is a long overdue thing.
Let’s hope it is permanent for this series and inspires others to do the
same. This is DVD after all.
Once
again, the 1.78 X 1 image is surprisingly soft and has aliasing issues if not
as bad as the last release. Color can be
good, but cheap video effects do not help.
The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo claims to have surrounds, but is even
weaker in Pro Logic mode and the sound is off throughout all programs. Extras besides the ASL noted include stills,
a bonus episode from the Dorothy The
Dinosaur TV series, Dorothy with “It’s
Time To Go To Sleep” and an E-Storybook of Little Miss Muffet (wondered
where she went) joining The Wiggles in concert.
