Dario
Argento put his name on two cheap, silly 1980s Horror film called Demons.
Anchor Bay has issued the first two silly films, the first of which has
the audience falling into the slasher film they are watching on screen and not
doing the set up very well. The sequel
has the cast of victims in an apartment building where a disease is spreading.
Made as
the slasher/zombie tend had ended its latest cycle, the films are for diehard
fans only and oddly, none of the scenes are very memorable and it is as bad as
the disposable U.S. equivalents.
The 1.85
X 1 image on both looks aged, but passable, for films from the 1980s with dated
make-up and visual effects to boot. The
Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono sound on each is more dated and small for its age. Were the Italian’s still dubbing like they
had since WWII? Extras include trailers and
audio commentary tracks for each, while the first film adds behind the scenes
footage.
