Super Comet: After The Impact (Image/Science Channel DVD)
Picture: C Sound: C+ Extras: D Main Program: C+
The
Science Channel made Super Comet: After
The Impact in an attempt to appeal to the younger crowd who might like Deep Impact or Armageddon, but it did not have to try to be so hip to get its
scientific look at a comet impact on the earth.
Running 84 minutes, it can be as education al as it can be
condescending, but the science wins out.
There just are better ways to present said material and I hope we see it
soon.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is softer than expected, possibly from
the transfer and/or because it is older digital video. With that said, it is watchable at best and
we have seen better. The Dolby Digital
2.0 Stereo is simple and sometimes rough, but is still better than the
picture. There are no extras.
