National Treasure – 2-Disc Collector’s Edition (Disney DVD Set)
Picture:
C+ Sound: B- Extras: C+ Film: C+
OK, let’s
be honest. Disney is only issuing the
Nicolas Cage hit National Treasure
in a double DVD set (and oddly, not a Blu-ray yet) simply because the sequel is
on the way.
Well,
here is the link to our original review of the widescreen DVD:

The fact
of the mater is that this is the same exact picture and sound transfer as the
last version, except the picture looks softer and the extras are repeated. The only new extras added are even more
deleted scenes they suddenly found with more director commentary and four more
featurettes about the film:
Cyphers, Codes & Codebreakers
On The Set Of American History
To Steal A National Treasure
Exploding Charlotte
That will
make fans happy and all will likely appear on the whenever-it-surfaces Blu-ray,
but unless you really love this film, the new features only add so much. If you have it, is that enough to repurchase
it?
Now we’ll
see what they do with then next film.
