In the
near future, there is a demon (youkai) world hidden in the shadows of the world
we know. But within this world exists
'Karas', a mix of both human and demon, but neither at the same time. A Karas watches and protects over the human
world when the youkai becomes thirsty for human blood. Both powerful and immortal, Karas can not only
transform, but move so fast time seems to stop. But only a human who has experienced ultimate
sorrow can become a Karas, but when Eko, an old Karas, become disappointed with
the human world decides humans are no longer worth protecting and should be
destroyed... A new string of mysterious murders occur and a new Karas is
born...
Faster than the eye can follow, Karas can move and
fight beyond what the human eye can follow. Secretly they exist in the human world,
protecting humans from the 'youkai' (demon) world. But with the mysterious
murders in the city, Karas is not far from behind. As the new Karas learns the ropes, he stumbles
on Nue, another youkai, but is he friend or foe? They met in the heat of combat, there are no
places for second losers.
This is an amazing anime with awesome designs and incredible CG, it has an
interesting blend of old legends of demons in Japanese mythology with
futuristic sci-fi. The demon world is a
hidden world, a creation from humans to represent the dark side of human
nature, but when humans deviate from nature and become too greedy, man's power
is turned against itself in the first volume.
Otoha,
the main character is the new Karas, watches over the feuding battles between
the demon world and human world, sides blur and blood is spilt. Otoha protects humans and those who are
innocent, but Eko has other plans for him and his city. The demon world is a hidden world, a creation
from humans to represent the dark side of human nature, but when humans deviate
from nature and become too greedy, man's power is turned against itself. Between
the demon and human world, Otoha's past will hold the key to the city's end or
future. Both worlds will be rocked between the clash of two
Karas...
