Hills Have Eyes 2 – Unrated (Blu-ray)
Picture:
B/C+ Sound: B Extras: D Film: D
The
sequel to the remake that should have never been made is back, this time on
Blu-ray hoping to recoup its losses. We
first looked at Martin Weisz’ Hills Have
Eyes 2 (2007) on DVD-Video and it was a disaster. Now, you can see and hear more clearly
everything than went wrong. You can read
about the film with our previous review:

Now that
the film has been properly bashed in every way, let’s consider the 1080p AVC @
18 MBPS 2.35 X 1 image, looking better than the DVD, but showing more vividly
how lame the denatured look of the film is.
This does not add suspense or help what little narrative is here, nor is
it even the best of its kind in high definition. The DTS HD MA (Master Audio) lossless 5.1 mix
is better than the picture or the previous Dolby on the DVD, but the lack of
character and distinction rings through and is boring.
The
extras are the same as the DVD and they too are all lame. Just skip it.
