How bad
is Brian Levant’s highly unfunny Jingle
All The Way (1996) Christmas comedy with Arnold Schwarzenegger? It did not make Jake Lloyd a child star and
wasted Robert Conrad, Rita Wilson, Jim Belushi, Sinbad and especially the late,
great Phil Hartman in a film that could drive Evangelicals to Atheism. At 122 minutes, it is worse than a warped old
holiday record.
It is
worse than ever, has not aged well a bit and is to be avoided at all
costs. If anyone gets the prized action
figure Turboman, the only way this could work is if the doll came to life and
zapped everyone.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.85 X 1 image is soft and also shows its age, shot as well
as can be expected by Director of Photography Victor J. Kemper, A.S.C., who
makes it at least look good. The Dolby
Digital 5.1 mix uses the surrounds to some extent, but it is not a great mix
and shows its age too. Extras include three
featurettes and two pointless games.
