Tweety’s High Flying Adventure (DVD-Video)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+    Extras: D    Episodes: C+

Derived from the underrated, amusing Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries series, Tweety’s High Flying Adventure is an animated feature with the same arrangement (including Granny as a Miss Marple-like detective) as Tweety becomes part of a challenge to go around the world (guess the amount of days) to get cat prints because a stuffy old British hunter thinks it is impossible for a bird to outwit cats left and right.

He never met Tweety.

Granny knows better and accepts a bet so she can use the money to save a British landmark.  Running 70 minutes, it is sufficiently entertaining and never wears out its welcome, but children are bound to find it the most entertaining and get multiple viewings out of it.  Many of the other Looney Tunes characters surface and for being a few years old, the film held up well.

The 1.33 X 1 image is not perfect and colors are good, if not up to the good old Technicolor days, but the image is consistent.  Minor aliasing errors also show up and there are some other detail issues, but it is fine for regular DVD overall.  The Dolby Digital 5.0 mix is credited as 5.1 no the case, but that is not so.  The sound is good, but not very impressive, with very limited use of the surround channels.  There are no extras.
