Hart Sharp has come up with their simple but charming entry into children’s
programming on DVD. Baby Road Trip is a series of simple programs for very young
children to imagine and explore the world they have arrived into. Using simple video images with simple
animation and gentle concepts, each show takes a look at a different aspect of
the outside world. The DVDs here cover
going to a Circus and to the Jungle.
Of
course, there is going to be some oversimplification, but these are pleasant
and fun shows without hitting children over the head with sound and bombast.
The 1.33
X 1 image is not too good, however, as this is created no analog video and these
discs have too much softness with some aliasing issues throughout each that
hold back the nice colors. The Dolby
Digital 2.0 is barely stereo and technically too low in sound playback. Be careful how loud you play this, especially
when switching to another sound source. There
are no extras.
