Chill Out, Scooby Doo (Animated Feature/DVD)

I have
not been happy with the Scooby Doo franchise, especially the live action
disasters bearing the name, but I have to admit that Chill Out, Scooby Doo is fine, passable entertainment for fans and
children. Best of all, despite new
techniques, the animators have been remarkably accurate about recreating the
color from the vintage series without much compromise.
This
time, the gang goes to the Himalayas, where they meet The Abominable Snowman. You can guess the rest. Frank Weller and Casey Kasem are back, joined
by Mindy Cohn, Alfred Molina and Rene Auberjonois as good voice actors in this
comic romp.
The 1.33
X 1 image is not only good in color, but depth and detail for the simple
animation are fine and will be mostly rewatchable for the child audience it is
most aimed at. The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix
is fair, but not very good at utilizing all the channels available. Dialogue is nicely recorded. Extras include a Music Video, game, deleted
scene and four trailers for other Warner animation DVD product.
