Flight 29 Down – Volume Two

Picture: C     Sound: C+     Extras: C-     Film: C-

Intended as a sort of Lost for teens, Flight 29 Down is a shockingly bad program with bad scripts, bad acting, the would-be star Corbin Bleu and stories so thin that the script is more like roast beef at Rax.  This is just bad, bad, bad and how any variant of The Discovery Channel but especially Discovery Kids (dubbed “@ DK” as if they needed to be so hip) is sad.  Yawn!

The anamorphically enhance 1.78 X 1 image was shot in some kind of digital video, maybe HD, but color, definition and detail are poor with aliasing all over the place, a phony video look and the thought that this could not look better or worse than a broadcast version.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo mix is barley better, with badly recorded soundfield overall and dialogue that can sound as phony as the acting.  Extras include a few featurettes.
