Waiting – Unrated & Raw (Blu-ray)

Not a fan of Waiting (2005) and now seeing it on
Blu-ray, it looks like one gross-out film too many may have dashed Ryan
Reynolds’ chances of Warner banking on him as The Flash in a film now in
turn-around. Lionsgate is still
“waiting” for this film to get some kind of cult status, which has not quite
happened yet. For my feelings on the
film and its DVD, try this link:

Now that the film is even more predictable that how
extremely predictable it was to begin with, that leaves wondering if the
Blu-ray is that much cleaner and clearer.
The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image is a
noticeable improvement over the DVD, but as noted before, the film has had a
history of being odd looking, but definition is improved the colors are less
off and yet the whole thing looks on the cheap side. The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound is repeated here
as EX and a new 7.1 PCM 16/48 mix has been added that is richer, yet also shows
the sonic limits of the original recording.
This was barely a 5.1 film let alone 7.1 and only the less-compressed
signal save it. The extras are the same
as the previous DVD edition too.
