Human Crossing is a series of short stories of
people in modern day life in Japan… with all the beautiful and ugliness of
life. As people struggle in a world
filled with hardship, lies, and sadness each character discovers mean,
understanding and maybe even find some happiness. That life doesn't always end happily ever
after, even so life goes on... and so does hope. That is the set-up of this anthology series.
This is a
really heart warming Animé, even though there is no excitement or aliens it
shows a lot of thought has been put into writing these short tales. Each one explores an aspect of human
emotion(s), from anger, sadness, loneliness... and shows how people deal with
the negatives of life or that sometimes the biggest revolutions in life come
from within.
I think
this was a rather melancholy series, a lot of "What is the moral of this
tale?" Even without any action this
drama filled series I felt for a more mature audience and those who like to
think about life and its meanings. Ultimately I think viewers can find an
inter-connection between the stories and peoples lives, and even in the worst
of situations find some hope.
The 1.33
X 1 image is OK for its age and looks good.
This extends to the animation, which is good because an anthology show
like this is not guaranteed to be consistent.
The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo has some good Pro Logic surrounds in both
languages. Each DVD has an average four
shows, an extra or two, but not a bunch.
Otherwise, this is a fine enough set.
