Many
speculative programs trying to capitalize on Dan Brown’s book, then film of The Da Vinci Code (reviewed elsewhere
on this site) and though it has yet to be announced for Blu-ray, Sony (who made
the film to begin with) has thrown their side disc into the ring about the hit
called Secrets Of The Code (2006) is
like a stop gap until the Blu-ray arrives.
Though
Susan Sarandon narrates, even she cannot make the obvious and played out fresh,
unless you have not seen the film, read the book or missed previous such
releases. It is no better or worse than
other such releases, which you can read more about at the following links:

I was
already coded out which is why so many writers covered those titles, but you
might not be, so you might want to try this one out just the same for starters
and compare if you are so inclined.
The 1.85
X 1 image is on the soft side and looks shot on video with its share of video
collage, but is watchable. The Dolby
Digital 5.1 mix is very limited with music in the surrounds and interviews
coming from the front. Sarandon sounds
best since she is the narrator. There
are no extras except for previews of other Sony DVD releases.
