Sex,
partying, and airplanes; what could be better?
A new series from Fox, The Loop:
Season One, has just been released on DVD.
The series stars Brett Harrison as Sam Sullivan the youngest executive
at a major airline, who is in a constant struggle of balancing work and
play. The series also stars Phillip
Baker Hall as Sam’s tough as nails boss and Amanda Loncar, Sarah Mason, and
Eric Olsen as his group of bumbling friends. While Sam wonders how he is going to get
through the work day. His friends are wondering why he is not there to party.
Sam is an
all around nice guy who tries to make everyone happy, but often finds himself
in awkward and unpredictable situations.
From waking up in Mexico hung-over too ‘breaking’ his penis on a gyro
vendor’s cart, Sam has had it all happen but still manages to get all of his
work done. This show is simply hilarious
and manages to capture audiences from beginning to end. The show’s characters all contribute their
own flair to the series and all are vital to the plot. The
Loop is clever, well thought out, and never fails to please. The show will go far if fox gives it a bigger
chance.
The
technical aspects of this seven-episode, single DVD release of the First Season are nice. The picture is presented in the natural
choice of a 1.78 X 1 Anamorphic Widescreen.
The picture is crisp and clear but there are a few color issues that
need touching up. The sound is equally
as nice in its 5.0 Dolby Digital Surround Sound, lacking bass as the number
shows. The extras are not very
impressive only offering fans a simple “Thesis:
Work vs. Play Featurette.” Overall,
this DVD is a nicely presented first season.
With
actors like Mimi Rogers, playing a seductive/horny Airline VP, the show remains
interesting and hilarious. The Second
Season premiers in June of 2007, so stay in the loop and watch this innovative
series.
